Since my husband Patrick Martin passed away, and I am now remarried, we are now looking to sell much of the equipment Patrick and I had. I wish that I could visit and paddle with special ETWC oldtimers especially like Billy Bob and Kary, etc., but priorities have been different. Thus, the equipment we'd like to include are:

1. NRS Inflatable "Tomcat" Kayak $450 obo
2. Wavesport "Ace4.7" whitewater playboat $550 obo
3. Dagger "Piedra" kayak $450 obo
4. 6'-2" Lightning bentshaft paddle $100 obo
5. 6'-3.5" Werner paddle, well-used $150 obo
6. 6'-6" AMT AquaBound paddle $70 obo
7. Wooden break-apart/adjustable (3 angles) paddle $100 obo
8. Carlisle adjustable/break-apart (2angles) paddle $40 obo
9. Mohawk canoe or raft paddle $30 obo

We also have some boat racks, and other assorted gear.

Blessings to everyone,

Laurie Martin Matera

All equipment listed are still available. My husband Chris and I can meet at our home in Kingston with any interested buyers the weekend of August 23-24 (Sat. or Sun.) or during the following week, to look at the boats/equipment and to possibly give us an offer. Email us to set up your visit. (I'll try to call anyone who leaves us a phone number.)

The money from the sale of any paddling equipment will be put into a fund for us to use, with the hopes to build a family. When Patrick was still alive, as his cancer returned, he told me that we should still keep the three children we were foster parenting. We took them a few times on river trips, where I (and once or twice, Kary Scarborough) would stay with the kids beside the river, while Patrick paddled. We enjoyed also taking them to ETWC roll practice, were the older two children could wade in the water or ride carefully on top of the kayaks.

Even as his condition worsened, and eventually he passed away, the kids remained in our official care. I am thankful for Billy Bob and Kary Scarborough of the club, who pitched in to help babysit while Patrick was in the Methodist hospital in Oak Ridge.

Although we patiently persisted in trying to get DCS (Tennessee Department of Children's Services) or the courts to reconsider the decision or to help me to see the children again (as I had promised Devon the oldest child), my new husband Chris and I are prayerfully exploring options such as adoption at this time to build a family.

Our digital camera isn't working. I can try with our cellphone, but it isn't a very fancy model, only the flip-up kind.

The duckie is a largish solo boat. I have seen only one seat, but I'll look around. As the picture shows, it fits one adult and a child fine.

Patrick my late husband bought it around 2006 or so.

It might fit two adults, but Patrick and I never tried it.

The wooden break-apart paddle is 7'2" (or 47 1/2" and 43 1/2").
The Carlisle paddle is 7'1" (or 45" and 42").
