Ocoee releases/Blue Ridge lake Drawdown (General Discussion)
Got this off of boater talk today. 1700-1800cfs will be significantly more water then a normal 1200cfs middle Ocoee release. It has been running slightly high all summer due to the flume damage but this will be a step up. Could be fun, could enhance the play spots as mentioned below but likely will wash out some. Those doing it for the first time and those leading them need to check it out first.

Hey All,
All of us Ocoee Rafting Outfitters received an e-mail today from the folks in the know (think of the person behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz). Just thought that I would pass it along. The top hole at Staging Eddy will be going off for big loops 24/7 for at least the next month!!! We have had this draw down before in the past but TVA always diverted all of the flow above 1200cfs into the box. Thanks to the big ass rock on top of the flume this is no longer the case!

Weâve been contacted by TVA to notify us that they are beginning the Blue Ridge Reservoir draw down for repairs beginning now. They said to anticipate between 1700 and 1800 cfs for the next 4 weeks. We will be updated then about the next 4 weeks, etc. I guess itâs all dependant on how much rain we get in the first 4 week period as to whether it will continue for the remainder of the season. Please remember to keep your Tuesday and Wednesday trips from 10-4.
Also TVA wanted us to know that they are going to begin more work on the flume repair and to anticipate they may hold up river traffic occasionally around Table Saw. Nothing different than what theyâve done over the past few weeks.
